• term designation (not repeatable within a language but repeatable by language)

• language symbol (not repeatable withing a language but repeatable by language)

Optional data categories that the translator may choose to make mandatory

• subject field

• record identifier (not repeatable)

• many more categories listed in other standards such as TBX

Repeatable data categories

Most data categories are repeatable within the same terminological record. Examples

• A terminological record may contain terms in more than one language

• A record may contain more than one synonym for each language

• Grammatical information (e.g. gender) may have to be repeated for each term.
